J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge. Twitter App
Team Syzygy Germany will be running and tweeting today at the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge, a 5.6 km long course through the streets of Frankfurt, that regular employees of many companies and trades take part in. Athletic achievement is secondary in this world-wide biggest competition – it’s all about team spirit, communication and colleagueship.
But how will Team Syzygy stay in contact in a field of more than 69.000 participants?
And how can they advance communication between the team and the spectators?

The idea was to develop an application that would let runners, supporters and spectators exchange information in real-time. This was made possible by using a so-called Twitter Mash-Up: Runners and supporters tweet via their mobile phones while on the course. The application will search for certain keywords in registered Twitter-Accounts, sort them chronologically and generate an html-site. It was important to ensure compatibility for mobile terminals. Whether runners will be able to type accurately remains to be seen.

Spectators along the route will be made aware of the campaign through catchy t-shirts. Their invitation “Follow me!” and URL will lead those interested to the site, where they can read the tweets and get to know the team.
