Carville. The blend of virtual and physical

Bodycopy:

More than a hint of little big planet about this piece of experimental tech from Razorfish – called Carville.

But it’s another good example of digital crossing over into the physical world – or digital experiential I guess. The opportunities for brand interaction are endless with this new ‘tangible digital’ – toys and configurators are the obvious choices but community play could be an avenue of development for this technology.
Imagine you had you own little house you could bring along to the scene, with your own Sims-like avatars within? Or maybe a battle-bot garage that you bring to a communal arena to fight.

The thing I also find interesting about this technology is their approach to innovation. Rather than the very stale tech-labs of some other agencies – they’ve put the consumer at the heart of the development with their Living Lab. They have a living room layout in their offices in New York, with sofas and pot plants which allows them to explore how technology features in the lives of the end user.
